No Words - Kike Arroyo
This short film tells the story of a woman who has been assaulted and is scared. The film begins with a clear establishing shot of a public toilet. There is very little natural light in the room connoting a dangerous atmosphere, common to the Horror/Thriller genre. Throughout the film a light also flickers inside the room, this is another convention of a horror film. There is also Asynchronous sound which is also used as a sound bridge.
The camera cuts to the woman inside the toilet, still very dark to represent how she feels, then there is a match on action for what she is looking at, showing her legs with a pregnancy test and her hands shacking as she cries, making the audience feel pity and shock as it is addressing a topic that is hard to talk about.
Later on in the film, the light flickers and the camera shows a over the shoulder shot of the pregnancy test and the audience the result and then cuts back to a close up of the woman face and showing her reaction. Make up is used to represent a large bruse on the right hand side of her face, and the shot also has a shallow depth of field so that the womans face is and focus yet the wall behind her is out of focus.
